How To Increase Pollination

How To Increase Pollination

Happy Monday! Today we want to talk about how to increase pollination In past video’s we’ve talked about one of the nutrients that’s negatively charged & also increases nitrogen utilization.  This nutrient does not translocate well in a plant. Therefore, we need it available throughout the growing season.  Boron is responsible for reproduction, adequate pollination and silking. As we look at our soil tests across America, the majority of the soil tests we look at are boron deficient. If you look at your soil test and you have less than 0.8 parts per million, you are Boron deficient. And we see tests much lower than that. Boron needs to be addressed because It’s going to cost you serious money if you don’t fix that need.

How do we do that? Well, if we’re going to be out in the field with chemicals or post emerge application, it’s real easy. We can apply Boron then. If we’re side dressing, we can apply some Boron with our Nitrogen. Or we can do it from an airplane.  Boron needs to be available throughout the growing season so it is not a nutrient that is well suited for a one shot fix upfront. We need to apply a little bit, a little bit, a little bit, so every time we’re out there we can address that.

It is a great product that provides an excellent return. I look at somebody like Matt from up in northern Iowa who ran plots with strips of Boron and that got him 12 bushels to the acre. That’s a significant return. Yes, it’s been a tough spring. Yes, it was a tough winter. Yes, the markets were terrible when we started but, the tough spring and a lot of people not getting planted or people like us who just finished last week have got the corn market paying attention. The markets are headed up. We can afford to do some testing & let’s look at those things that are low investment with high returns. Boron is one of those products.

If you’re open to talking about how you can get your hands on the number one Boron product from an ROI standpoint send us a text at 641-919-5570 or just give us a call. We would love to talk to you.

PS: Having nothing to do with Boron I’d love to invite to check out another project that we’re working on at abetterwaytofarmlink.com

you definitely want to be there
